not really poetry but a text I like: Dire Straits - Why Worry

Baby I see this world has made you sad
Some people can be bad
The things they do, the things they say
But baby Ill wipe away those bitter tears
Ill chase away those restless fears
That turn your blue skies into grey

Why worry, there should be laughter after the pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now

Baby when I get down I turn to you
And you make sense of what I do
I know it isn't hard to say
But baby just when this world seems mean and cold
Our love comes shining red and gold
And all the rest is by the way

Why worry, there should be laughter after pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now
When you can dream it, you can do it!

 ;)

"Dark Waltz" by HAYLEY WESTENRA (I'm in love with it)

We are the lucky ones
We shine like a thousand suns
When all of the colour runs together

I'll keep you company
In one glorious harmony
Waltzing with destiny forever

Dance me into the night
Underneath the moon shining so bright
Turning me into the light

Time dances whirling past
I gaze through the looking glass
And feel just beyond my grasp is heaven

Sacred geometry
Where movement is poetry
Visions of you and me forever

Dance me into the night
Underneath the moon shining so bright
Turning me into the light

Dance me into the night
Underneath the moon shining so bright
Let the dark waltz begin
Oh let me wheel - let me spin
Let it take me again
Turning me into the light
We are living in the world of so beautiful images... Just think who you are among them.

Heal the world - Michael Jackson  (as I truly found him back in death)

There's a place in
Your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could
Be much
Brighter than tomorrow
And if you really try
You'll find there's no need
To cry
In this place you'll feel
There's no hurt or sorrow

There are ways
To get there
If you care enough
For the living
Make a little space
Make a better place...

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough
For the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

If you want to know why
There's a love that
Cannot lie
Love is strong
It only cares for
Joyful giving
If we try
We shall see
In this bliss
We cannot feel
Fear or dread
We stop existing and
Start living

Then it feels that always
Loves enough for
Us growing
So make a better world
Make a better world...

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough
For the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

And the dream we were
Conceived in
Will reveal a joyful face
And the world we
Once believed in
Will shine again in grace
Then why do we keep
Strangling life
Wound this earth
Crucify its soul
Though its plain to see
This world is heavenly
Be gods glow

We could fly so high
Let our spirits never die
In my heart
I feel you are all
My brothers
Create a world with
No fear
Together we cry
Happy tears
See the nations turn
Their swords
Into ploughshares

We could really get there
If you cared enough
For the living
Make a little space
To make a better place...

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough
For the living
Make a better place
For you and for me
When you can dream it, you can do it!

Thanks to Karin I got to know a new poet  :) *hugs* called Erich Fried and I must say  :D you were right with every word you said about his work sweet woman!!

ABER

Zuerst habe ich mich verliebt

In den Glanz Deiner Augen

In Dein Lachen

In Deine Lebensfreude

Jetzt liebe ich auch Dein Weinen

Und Deine Lebensangst

Und die Hilflosigkeit

In Deinen Augen

Aber gegen die Angst

Will ich Dir helfen

Denn meine Lebensfreude

Ist noch immer der Glanz Deiner Augen
When you can dream it, you can do it!

Sweet Goodbyes - Krezip (I somehow don't find the lyrics topic back mmm...)

Can't sleep 'cause everything's changing
You don't want to leave things behind
Can't breathe cause to many things going on going wrong in your life

Tears in your eyes
Sweet goodbyes
I know how you feel right now
Losing dreams you've come to care about
I know what you need right now
You need to come on home so I can hold you tight
Guide you through the night
I'll guide you through the night

Wake up the sun's shining bright lets go out of bed into the light
Shape up we won't forget still there's lots of love left to hold tight

Tears in your eyes
Sweet goodbyes
I know how you feel right now
Losing dreams you've come to care about
I know what you need right now
You need to come on home so I can hold you tight
Guide you through the night

Everything I love between us will guide us through the night
All the things we lost will teach us see the pretty things in life
All the places that we've been to
The people we relate to
All the love that we give in to

Blow the tears from our eyes
Sweet goodbyes
I know how you feel right now
Losing dreams you've come to care about
I know what you need right now
You need to come on home so I can hold you tight
I know how you feel right now
Losing dreams you've come to care about
I know what you need right now
You need to come on home so I can hold you tight
I'll get you through the night
When you can dream it, you can do it!

ok another text that eum hit me in the face you could say:

Three days in a row - Anouk

I've been loving you
without you even knowing
I'll never forget those days

three days in a row
you were mine alone
And I haven't seen you since that day
I'm sorry baby

Baby boy when I saw you the first time
I knew right away that you and I
were connected in a way
I believed that there was way something more
that I could ever express in my own words
I just knew at the time
I belonged to you but it all felt so wrong
to do the things that my heart gave in
baby I'm telling you

I've been loving you
Without you even knowing
I'll never forget those days

Three days in a row
you were mine alone
And I haven't seen you since that day
I'm sorry baby

With loads on our minds
a few goodbyes
we could never have given it a real try
But you were in my head always
And at this point of my life I just know
That if you let me back in
I won't let go of you and me spending our lives
I just know it's a matter of time
Before it all falls back into place
baby believe me

I've been loving you
without you even knowing
I'll never forget those days

Three days in a row
you were mine alone
And I haven't seen you since that day

I walk the line and for you I will shine
just be prepared for a hell of a ride
Don't ever doubt 'bout the way I feel
for heaven sake boy I'm beggin' you

I've been loving you
without you even knowing
I'll never forget those days

Three days in a row
you were mine alone
And I haven't seen you since that day.
When you can dream it, you can do it!

Hurt

I hurt myself today
to see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
the only thing that's real
the needle tears a hole
the old familiar sting
try to kill it all away
but I remember everything
what have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end
and you could have it all
my empire of dirt

I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns
upon my liar's chair
full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
beneath the stains of time
the feelings disappear
you are someone else
I am still right here

what have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end
and you could have it all
my empire of dirt

I will let you down
I will make you hurt

if I could start again
a million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way
When you can dream it, you can do it!

euuum, this is what i listen these days a lot and it kind of touched me quite deep

Asrai - Stay
    Where will I stand
When there’s nothing left to say?
    Stay with me
    What will you choose
When there’s nothing left to lose?
    Time stands still

    Hide behind the walls
Where a house is not a home
    Stay with me
    I can’t break through
When there’s nothing to be told
    Stay with me

    Stay with me
    When there’s nothing left
    Stay with me

    How can I breathe
When the sky has turned to grey?
    It fades away
    I don’t understand
Does it always feel so cold?
    Breathe with me

Do the nightmares find your head
    Staring to the face behind?
    Time is all we have
When the sky has turned to grey
    Stay with me

    Stay with me
When there’s nothing left to say
    Please stay
all dogs are great, but mine is absolutely 100% the greatest dog who ever dogged!

You probably know that I really love Tom Waits and his music. I love his lyrics too, they are so... lifelike.
And here are the lyrics for my favourite song "Invitation to the blues". I like the music more... well, just listen to it and you'll immediately get why. But the lyrics are also great:
Quote
Well she's up against the register with an apron and a spatula,
Yesterday's deliveries, tickets for the bachelors
She's a moving violation from her conk down to her shoes,
Well, it's just an invitation to the blues
And you feel just like Cagney, she looks like Rita Hayworth
At the counter of the Schwab's drugstore
You wonder if she might be single, she's a loner and likes to mingle
Got to be patient, try and pick up a clue
She said How you gonna like 'em, over medium or scrambled?,
You say Anyway's the only way, be careful not to gamble
On a guy with a suitcase and a ticket getting out of here
It's a tired bus station and an old pair of shoes
This ain't nothing but an invitation to the blues
But you can't take your eyes off her, get another cup of java,
It's just the way she pours it for you, joking with the customers
Mercy mercy, Mr. Percy, there ain't nothing back in Jersey
But a broken-down jalopy of a man I left behind
And the dream that I was chasing, and a battle with booze
And an open invitation to the blues
But she used to have a sugar daddy and a candy-apple Caddy,
And a bank account and everything, accustomed to the finer things
He probably left her for a socialite, and he didn't 'cept at night,
And then he's drunk and never even told her that her cared
So they took the registration, and the car-keys and her shoes
And left her with an invitation to the blues
'Cause there's a Continental Trailways leaving local bus tonight, good evening
You can have my seat, I'm sticking round here for a while
Get me a room at the Squire, the filling station's hiring,
And I can eat here every night, what the hell have I got to lose?
Got a crazy sensation, go or stay? now I gotta choose,
And I'll accept your invitation to the blues

Tom Waits' amazing indeed I also love his kinda donno ... he's got such an own style and vision on the world... simply love it ...specially his voice... :-)
My favourite is "you're innocent when you dream"

Quote
The bats are in the belfry
the dew is on the moor
where are the arms that held me
and pledged her love before
and pledged her love before

It's such a sad old feeling
the fields are soft and green
it's memories that I'm stealing
but you're innocent when you dream
when you dream
you're innocent when you dream

running through the graveyard
we laughed my friends and I
we swore we'd be together
until the day we died
until the day we died

I made a golden promise
that we would never part
I gave my love a locket
and then I broke her heart
and then I broke her heart
When you can dream it, you can do it!

Just wanted to place it here few days ago since I'm listening to it for a week now...and just recalled it.

Electricity

Seems like you never really knew me
Seems like you never understood me
Seems like you never really knew how to feel
But electricity it drew you near to me
What you needed was to be rid of me

There were times you really made me smile
And there were times you really made me cry
And there were times I never really knew how to feel
But electricity it drew you near to me
What you needed was to be rid of me
And the fear made you so unsure of me
What you needed was to be rid of me.

But electricity it drew you near to me
What you needed was to be rid of me
And the fear made you so unsure of me
What you needed was to be rid of me.

A POISON TREE by W. Blake  ;)

I was angry with my friend:
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe:
I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I watered it in fears,
Night and morning with my tears;
And I sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright.
And my foe beheld it shine.
And he knew that it was mine,

And into my garden stole
When the night had veiled the pole;
In the morning glad I see
My foe outstretched beneath the tree.

Rêve d'Eschyle éclos au climat des autans;

Ou bien toi, grande Nuit, fille de Michel-Ange,
Qui tors paisiblement dans une pose étrange
Tes appas façonnés aux bouches des Titans!

— Charles Baudelaire
