Title: Nostalgia
Post by: Kitty on April 11, 2009, 16:36:30
 I have looked up some songs that I've heard very often as little girl ...as I spend a lot of time at my grandma's it were often like those naja 'tolle songs'... I wanted to share my nostalgia with you one more time (I know last time it didn't work out maybe now...) Imagine a sunny day at which you can just relax, sing and dance, at which you want to feel joy and share joy...and remember (or get to know)

'Verdammt ich lieb' dich-ich lieb' dich nicht, Verdammt ich brauch' dich - ich brauch' dich nicht'    Man have I danced at this song     ... at the time it was released I was about 2 years   imagine! ;) (Matthias Reim)

And another one: "Hast du ein wenig Zeit für mich, dann singe ich ein Lied für dich, von 99 Luftballons auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont, denkst du vielleicht g'rade an mich, dann singe ich ein Lied für dich von 99 Luftballons und das sowas von sowas kommt..." (Nina Hagen)

And another one (I was 9 back then): "This is how I fee I'm cold and I'm 'shamed lying naked on the floor"(Natalie Imbruglia)

Another one: "We walked the street to the beat
Hand in hand you and me Smiling faces so in love Hoping that they all could see"(Anouk)

 :D  gohhh how time flies!!!  :o  ...

Nina Hagen! I like her very much... As for me, I don't like too much to remember my eary years, they are quite tainted but still, I remember them more because of the smells than the sounds (strange, because by now, my sense of smell is almost nil), like grass, olives, cheese, some dinosaurs made of foam that totally stinked...

:D ow I have memories for all things, the smell of rain after a sunny day reminds me of the days I went to Holland with my family in vacations I was still young then but I liked (I still like anyways) just standing in the rain and thinking of nothing in speciall really  :D so that's a nice memory for me... and the sounds remind me of as I said sunny days on which I was dancing and singing and just enjoying my life... I try to get those memories back as the latest years of my life were crowded with negative memories, memories that tortured me and that made me real sad...but now that the sun came back to Belgium I needed just that little extra to let the positive energy flow again...and that were those (and many more) songs    I was happy like a little child yesterday when I posted this thing... I can't believe you have but negative memories Arlishan, that would mean you're almost dead  ;) ... but I know what you mean...I think  ;)

I also have memories to certain things I do, like at this time of the year my nose itches a lot because of all the seeds etc and I scratch my nose in exactly the same way as my sis and my gran   and that makes me laugh  :) or like when I look at my pear tree (that's full of flowers by the way now, thanks to my good care  :D I'm really proud of that  :P ) then I think back of my gran as she really liked gardening as well and I'm sure she would have given me some tips and tricks when she were still alive and that makes me have that feeling of nostalgia...good old memories my gran working in the garden and me assisting her    and wondering "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING???!!! YOU PULL OUT ALL THOSE LOVELY FLOWERS!!!" "that's weeds my love" ..."SO?? IT LIVES!!" ... "yeah but it kills other plants" ..." :o OW GOOD OF YOU GRAN!!!" situations like these...

And I was somehow wondering...am I the only one who kind of gets those lovely memories back? I mean I was fearing them for a long time as I thought they would make me cry as all other memories did but in fact they make me smile and feel happy...and somehow I really really miss my gran (I know that's one of the reasons I get those memories now) and I really hate her for that...but on the other hand I'm very thankful because without her death I'm sure I would never ever have found lacrimosa  :)  another good memory! Lacrimosa always cured my heart at moments I felt terribly dead    good memory? Yeah cause I can still feel that Resonanz from their hearts to mine the first time I saw them live...and that's just wonderful ... nostalgia  :D  ... you know there are things you will only feel once...and you should try and keep them with you just in case you get a point like I was at last year that things really get on your nerves and you really feel like "what am I still doing here?""Why was it I turned back?"

Sweet memories  :D like the one when I was waiting for Lichtjahre to arrive...God I nearly died that day    but than I saw that DPD thing drive in our lane and I thought YEAH YEAH YEAH THAT'S FOR ME!!! I know I made a little jump and ran smiling to the door even before the man had rang the bloody thing    and I opened with that same smile and I took my packet and almost closed the door when the man said with a big smile on his face you still need to sign here   and then I did, closed the door and yelled "I LOVE YOU!!!!"      (I'm listening to Lichtjahre at this very moment by the way  :D ) I had almost hugged that delivery man hahah, I was sooo happy! ... and I have the slight idea it will be no different now when Sehnsucht arrives

Hi is it coincidence kitty?
I went to a speech late yesterday about German rock&roll music together with modern history, I went there to test my german listening  and they invited a weird speaker who can speak fluent chinese and translate all by himself!..sometimes he murdering german and forgot to translate, sometimes upside down
The guy even drew a chart on his ppt to explain '99 Luftballons und Krieg'
for you as a childhood memeory, and for me an interesting new world imprinted with time, something you never experienced but deeply empathized  :D Zeitgeist

Cheers

Not at all! I mean I don't like remembering my childhood because all those good memories full of sunlight and laughter eventually lead me to the painful memories of how all of that ended. So I've turn more a present-guy, despite how rotten everything is I can remember laughter with my buddies, long walks with my beloved boy, my rat, and all those little joys that make me know I'm alive.  :)

"You pull out all those lovely flowers!" That's sooo sweet, Kitty! That brought me a smile like this: :3 And the delivery man, yeah, it reminded me of how that mailman made me sooooo happy when I went downstairs to find him with a brown box with the packing list red envelope on it...

Greets!

Post by: Kitty on April 13, 2009, 08:57:34
 I've always have had a heart for nature  :D but at the time I didn't know there exist good and bad flowers so   but it makes me smile too when I remember those situations    I remember having a discussion with her too about names...as I don't like my name and she wondered than how would you like to be called? I said like Vicky ... or Kate, or something and she bursted out of laughter... as she was surprised about the fact I really had thought it over that well that I could answer that question ...she hadn't expected    but she told me than that most people don't like their own name but that we should be grateful for the gift a name is  :) and in fact she's right the fact we have a name means we know love means that someone cared enough to name you :) My gran had a lovely name well she had two I don't like the previous one but I do like her second name 'Ludwina'  :)  and I always said when I have a girl she will be called Ludwina when I have a boy he will be called Wolf(well it's funny it's spelled exactly the same way in Dutch as in English) because I like that animal by the way.

And about leading to how it all ended...by me it's the opposite now I try to connect a positive memory to every bad one in order to know there's a white side on every black one  ;) like Ying and Yang... I think that's how we should store information on these little computers of ours to be able to survive...I've lived in a cocon for too long you know because of those torturing negative memories of situations that well just happened you know  :) My gran always said, you should always try to live now and not back then when again I was sad for the loss of a dear (I lost many before I lost her ... that was my luck) my gran was very donno not that she didn't care...she just could live with the fact that she lost someone once in a while...but people claim that from the moment you lost your mom you stop caring for losses that much   can't imagine that now but it seemed to be correct with my gran ...and her strength is something I kind of forgot when I lost her, I seemed to have forgotten everything she learned me when I lost her...accept "smile my dear smile and everything will be alright" and that works!!!You should try it, when you cry just smile no matter how much pain it creates to force that smile, but the sad feeling fades away...with me anyway ;)   But now by letting those memories come back I see that in fact I may be proud to have got such a gran and nanny (cause I was often with her as a little child in vacations and after school) and I should honnor the things she's learned me  :) that's why I tell those things by the way as I know you have it hard (and many in this forum know that feeling) and I think we should try to support one another in one or the other way  ;) It's our nature to stick to bad memories (that's what my psychologist claims anyway)  and that makes us most of the time unhappy where we could be perfectly happy...that's also why he asked me to get to know why I don't let positive memories to my mind ... and the thing was I was just scared as hell, cause I thought good memories will bring me longing for something I miss...and I can't get back what I miss...but I can and turn it into nostalgia   my sweet sweet memories  ;)

Greetings
Me

I've traveled a lot with my parents; I had my first flight when I was only year and 3 months :P So, my first memories consist of constant heat, big insects (there were huge ants!   ), snakes and men wearing beard and holding guns, mostly AK-47.  It was Pakistan, where my father worked as interpreter. And of course I remember my fright & delight when I first see the ocean. It was so powerful, if you know what I mean. Mmm, one more recollection from that time. It seems that I had been jumping all the time at that time))

My first memories about the music that impressed me much are about rock opera "Jesus Christ - Superstar". For about 14 years I'm a big fan of it. I've got a lot of different memories, so it's a nice idea, to create a topic for them. Thanx, Longwaytogo

:o I KNOW THAT ONE!!!! We did that opera with the academy once  :D and I got to sing with my class at that time "Superstar" Jezus Chirst SUPPPPPEER Star  LAlalalalalalaalalaaa  I remember the melody...it's somewhere in my maps somewhere!!! OW I'll have to look it up now... :D I know there was this one operasinger then and god did she impress me!!!  :D

Afterwards we got the invitation to sing beatle songs   someone of the audience was impressed by my class  :D and we were able to do the beatle songs ... and I liked that even more  :D

 sorry you just brought up A LOT of memories

That about Pakistan, I always wondered how many kids get traumatised by the images they get to see their at such young age! I can imagine youwere scared like hell   I wouldn't have liked those images of way to big insects and men with guns and all  :o

Thank you to share your memories  ;)

Slowly, those wrong memories are getting away from me but it has costed me loads of blood and tears, hours of therapy and the infinite care of my loved ones. But I'll never be able to get compleately rid of them and that is always a weigh on my back.

Huge ants, sheez, that reminded me of my chilhood panic for those! I'm still soooo sissy when it comes to insects... :P Awh, damn, I totally HATE Jesus Christ Superstar... And in this time of the year it's everywhere in the tv so you can't watch it peacefully...

It would be strange if you didn't know "Jesus..." ;) I had no chance to take part in perfoming it. But it really surprises me, Arlishan, why don't you like the opera? Are you annoyed becuse you can watch it everywhere?   On our TV it would be problem for you))

Well, about Pakistan. At that time I was to young to be afraid. Small children are so brave! When I remember what was I doing when I was small...   So men with guns were quite usual, though a bit strange. But from that time I'm sure that ants are going to seize the World)) They are so clever and well organised!   :?

I wonder what were they doing trying to transport me or what...I wasn't dead yet

And yeah children are very very very brave...  :) that's I guess why we all survived  ;)

 Yeah, but you're still very cheerful)) It's very important to find something to laugh at in different (sometimes embarrassing) situations. When I was about 13-14 y.o. I had a awful pink down-padded coat. It was not big)) It was unsuitably huge. I was just like grand pink ball... You know, winters in Belarus are cold & snowy; the roads are rather slippery. So, when I fell down on the ice, it was very difficult to get up)) It seams that I bobbed up once or twice like a real ball! In such situations I could do nothing but laugh

When I was styding how to dance tango when I was still at school, my partner was... well, I want to call him idiot  but I'm trying to stay tolerant. So, we were in difficult pose: I was bending down to the floor and he was holding me with an arm.
So, our tutor said: "Lesha?! (That's his name) What are you doing! You're holding her with the wrong arm!"
He said: "ooops!"
I said: "Aaaaaa! What a hell are you doing?!"
You know why?!! Because he just tried to change his arm while I was still in the air!!   I couldn't keep the balance without his help. I miss my childhood.
Easier Life=
The school was easier.
I didn't have many responsabilities.
I could do whatever I wanted because I was a child and there were no inhibitions at all.
There were decent cartoons on TV! The Ninja Turtles used to be my favorite. Damn, I loved that program. The old Power Rangers were cool as well.
I had much more friends than now. Now I only have five or six, at best.

Great times.

   Ok I laughed very hard because of that conversation between you two
pulling of pants, losing teeth, walking around like a pink ball not being able to get up when you fall
My idea is that you'd rather laugh in such situations than cry... I fell in the bus once   because I had to stand up there were no seats left...but I can't keep my balance very easily (which is why I easily fall even when I'm just standing    watching the fridges in the shop   ) so the bus took a turn and I went along    and I saw all those people laugh and wonder ow ow that must have hurt...and someone ask did you hurt yourself? ... and I got up with this big smile and said "no I'm trained, it's my hobby"    and so they all laughed very hard...and I prefer that you know if there's something I can't stand it's that compassionnatness of complete strangers  :?  ...and one tip if you fall down the stairs at the metro or something in public...just get up don't look around and continue your road as if nothing happen'    that works you know!!!!

@Psicosis: some wisdom? Real friends you mostly can count on one hand  :)  and it's never too late getting in touch with old friends you know  :)  ... I prefer being a grown up, as my childhood was everything but an easy life  :)  but can imagine you see it as less stressie...although when I look at small children today, they carry a lot more stress than I had to bare at that age...

but I had a reason...why did you fight then??... and mess up the garden     what can I imagine by that     flowers everywhere but not where they were supposed to be  :P     hahahahaha!!!!!

hahaha you are lovely! with fluffy dog! haha cute little stubborn girl

I myself was a troublemaker with my friends, but just harmless troubles or pranks. But lots of annoying boys like to bully us(they came in groups, attack in groups ;lol), from preschool to early years in primary school my memory stays in fighting, till now I can remember how I tried hard to work out ideas(in class) to beat off them after school and designed our withdraw line if we fail, it happened a lot. Even in the classroom or at sports class

And our parents always have to visit each other's home to apologize. Now it looks funny to me I took those fights so seriously as my life and death survival in school that time...
the garden..it's a public garden in my grandma's place but we built it as our base...you can imagine how we messed up there, this year when i went back to hometown I saw that little garden again, and surprised me how small it was, and used to be my

I have only a few things I remembered about music I listened to as kid: classic, Michael Jackson, Japanese folk songs, dance music, anime music...strangely never know any pop songs and pop stars as everyone in class listens to them

umm...and I like to be grown up, being a carefree and easy kid I have less control of myself and my life, so I like it now,  with difficulties it's fun. ;D

Look forward ;DD

Seems you are quite tall, then! I might reach Tilo's belly with lots of luck.

I'd be totally terrified of making you angry!    I was a very peaceful kid, I don't recall having got into any big fight, they started when I was older (ask my father   )

draw and paint, fight, listen to stories from recorder, fight, tell stories to other little kids, fight, build little wood house and mess up garden, fight, make troubles to neighbour and run, fight, ...so much i think of till now

wow, you fought a lot

well, the only time when i fought was in kindergarten when a boy X insulted boy Y because he is serbian and not slovenian. i kicked his ass when hearing what he said. i was pissed off, because my mum is not slovenian either and i hate those nazi stuff...

Same stuff:evil: The boy for whom I stood up was from Armenia, not the Slav. He was little & short & rather shy  I hate  stupid persons think that they're better because their hair is blond, or their nose is not so long... and so on, and so force. I don't understand how some of the Belorussians could be some kind of Nazi, cause Nazi practically destroyed our country. 3/4 of people died during WWII:(  My grandmas and grandpas survived, so they told me a lot about that war. But I strongly believe that the majority of the Belorussians are more adequate:lol:

I'm exagerating, but I'm quite small for a boy my age (1.58 m, I stopped growing up at age 15). As far as I know, from what I've read in the forums, Tilo is around 1.90 m.

So you're as high as my father! We mexicans aren't very tall, the average male height must be around 1.70-1.80 and women around 1.60-1.65 I think. But anyway, I'm so small I think I'll buy my clothes from the kid's section for ever!

Oooi, yes, you europeans are really TALL. Or at least the ones I've seen as tourists on the street are quite high. 1.70-1.80 it's not so short, you are right. Yeah, everybody who just meets me tell me "ah, don't worry, boys keep on growing until age 22 or so" but I haven't grown in years, I don't think I will.

Kid's section, I'm not the only one!   Some day I was looking for a shirt with my sister and I since I was growling about having to get it from the kid's section and she said to me "see it from the lighter side! Kid's clothing costs less!" She had a point, indeed.

Yeaaah, the same happens to me, since I'm not tall and I've got these childish features as if I have had no puberty at all.  :P  Today I went to start a course to prepare my university exam and the first thing they ask me "how old are you, lad?" with a face like this:  :|  Sure I don't look like if I finished highschool.

EDIT: I've got something with doodles, lately

Tilo impressed me a bit as he looks like a giant at first =D as I always thought he's small man from the pictures. 'wow..that's the man who writes emotional and loving music!?'

I'm 1.66 always consider tall in class, now I'm smaller girl as here these northen people are much taller and bigger,

But despite stature, some small guys have got a overwhelming and strong feeling/ or qi, Alexander Veljanov for e,g,. And on contrary some tall guys look weak, ... 8) as it's not only determined by one's appearance, I wonder why

Yeah, you're very tall. Here the average height among girls is between 1.60-1.65, although I know a handful of damn tall girls (including my classmates at Taekwondo and my cousin, who are around 1.80 as well).
Men's average height is between 1.75 and 1.80.

That was the tragedy for him, cause he wanted to become pilot))) And they are not allowed to be tall)) He went into parachute jumping, but he couldn't be allowed to jump because of the height, so he bought very wide pants and crouched a bit in them during the medical checkup   :)  :D Yeah, he cheated, but parachute jumping was his passion))

I can say the shopping goes the same way when you're small! All shirts that has some sort of shape to it fits me but trousers gaah...and then there's the whole of finding something that's actually pretty :/ Since all the shops here are very fashionable and not very alternative AT ALL I'm having big time trouble finding even just a plain t-shirt I like. And that's when I turn to the bookstore or the recordshop to relax and forget my frustrations :P and then I normally just buy all the clothes I didn't get throughout the year, when I go to Germany about once a year (that goes for music as well actually :P)

I love nostalgia!! :) It's a great feeling to think about the past, have the same feelings, smell the smells.. I think it's indescribable, but I love it (sure, not the bad past!).
And music it's a good way to think about the past and memories.
For times I listened also to black music (not gangster music!) :P
When I listen to that song (like yesterday evening) I think about this past, this black music - phase. :D

*suffer suffer*  :D  I keep digging in my memories ... I got to remember a walk when I was younger with my gran... we went to the shop and all of a sudden we came talking about thunder and lightning - she loved watching that  :D  and I (still have that) had a love-hate relationship with it ... and I asked now what would you do when you're in the middle of nowhere (I was  at the time) and it starts storming? and she answered "I would make me very small on the ground so that everything is bigger than I am, cause lightning always goes to the highest peakes in the surrounding' and I stared at her "I would just think of you and be sure the lightning would be nice out of fear"  :D  it's weird how some memories go lost and come back after donno some time  :) I love it when it are beautiful memories which return! And I still see that walk in front of me ... we talked about apples that day too ... she said apples are healthy and I went like "ow I eat a thousands of them a day then" and she went "well not that healthy either"    8)  ... it's pretty bad weather here, ideal for thinking and coffee

Looked through some old pictures... you really know what you had when you lose it right  :) .... I saw some family gatherings on them which now are reduced to about half of the people ... I mean when I look at pictures from when I was about 10 we had christmaseves with like 12 people around the table... now we have christmaseves mostly with 6 ... that's scary  :o
ALSO I saw a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!!! where I was wearing my bear costume and went outside making a snowman   god... lovely!

Also this weekend I went collecting walnuts at my future home and I thought of the fact that in the past I did that with my sister, we went to the woods nearby and collected nuts meanwhile dreaming of dwarves that lived there and somehow I want to go to the woods now   ... and then in the afternoon we usually made pancakes and made a cosy evening with an animation movie  :D and now I realised that I do actually quite the same with my niece ... we have such awesome afternoons sometimes I once took her with me to the sea and she still remembers that eventhough she was about 5 then  :)  ... how I ran and fell in the sand, yeah how could she forget that right

Just felt the need to share this with you ... and now I should run for my bus  :P

me again... I read through some older topics... and I found one back from the very beginning of this forum... and maybe you have seen this already maybe not, but as I know recently there are a lot of new members (which is REALLY COOL!!!) I thought it might be interested to post it back...

the topic that was created by Ritchie at that time :
http://www.lacrimosa.ch/cms/forum/viewtopic.php?t=705&highlight=

And the nostalgia that was brought up there:

http://www.lacrimosa.de/flash/flash.htm

That made me think how lovely it is that this forum exists... I almost can't remember the time that you only had the website, refreshing everyday thousands of times  :P   no ... the thing is that back then it was very hard to find equal minded people... I started listening to lacrimosa in 2001, nobody in my surrounding liked that music except my sis but she was more in Goethes Erben, so there was nobody to talk about this passion, this love, this understanding... I still remember the very first time I discovered there was a forum ... I didn't dare to register at first    I waited for several weeks and then I thought let's get to know new people... and since I've never really been away, there were times I wrote less, times I only read, times I only posted poetry, but what is it with this place???  :D

Well wanted to share once again  ;)

Kisses

oww thanks kitty, well ive never seen that flash before, by the date it was made, i wasnt a lacrimosa fan, but when i first met them, i was like you, nobody share the same emotion with me, you know, and it was so difficult to talk about, cause nobody seem to understand what i was talking about, and i knew little about forums, but i join a few local forums about lacrimosa some time ago, and i had some fun there, but i never dare to join here, i was like sheez i dont understand that well the german and i dont have time....but today time is not that important hehehe, i always find some time to be here and having lots of fun, and sharing emotions, and i love it!!

mm indeed, nobody understood, still not actually  ... I'm sure they're good in pretending and it's more something like respecting then really understanding... but that's fine by me cause I got all of you now to discuss this  :) and specially to know that I'm not crazy - well I am but not that oh well you understand right   .
And the thing is I did have accounts in other, not lacrimosa related fora before I entered here... but that was never really the same... in first instance I mostly had the feeling of interrupting whereas here there's a very welcoming atmosphere and you act towards someone new the way you act toward someone who has been here for some time already and that's just so nice about it all that and as you mentioned the sharing  :D ... I was afraid to register here cause it was an official forum (and I had never been part of an official forum before) so I had the thought that well he and Anne might be reading along and as I'm rather saying what I think   ... you know  :?  8) ... but then I'm glad that I did anyway cause I've met such really nice people in here already... too bad that most of them leave again, but there are some older members I still have contact with as well  :) and it's not that they don't like lacrimosa anymore, they just have no time to be here anymore... so  ;)

Kisses

today by coincidence...I heard the song When you say nothing at all from Ronan Keating ... and ..... childhood memories nostalgia...I think I was 10 when I fell in love over both my ears with a boy at a halloween party (I have the advantage of having an older sister ;)) at first sight ... the glance in his eyes I think it was that made me melt ... shy as I was(am) I left the party without saying a word to him, thinking I'd never see him again...when I bumped into him one street away from me a day later(no it's not my present boy ;)) I was struck by a lightening   though up till today we haven't said a word and yet we've had entire conversations ... even still today I feel this magic in the air when he passes by and our eyes cross, though I no longer want anything from him...I always think of him when I hear this song and remember the unhealthy state of being in love   how feelings change...now I know he's the most irritable girl-player that walks the planet who breaks hearts like others have their breakfast, who uses drugs and likes to play tricks on people (yeah, Hamme is a small town, I got to know all about him without really knowing him ;)...even his name)  ... yet I still see why I fell for him...like always when I fall for someone... the eyes ...

A very sweet story, Kitty! Thanks for sharing it.
It could fit perfectly into a short film with that particular use of light and tempo that european films have got.

Nostalgia: that awkward moment you find old class photos from your vocal class and you look like a zombie singing a requiem.

Ok just read this and WOW I can definitely relate!! I totally have had those moments were this a mystical spark but never a spoken word. Then you happen to see them in very random times like a coffee shop etc. yet you don't live so close nor in a small town. Ahh definitely takes me back to high school. XDD

I remember we have one classphoto from the last year in secondary school where we all decided to wear pyjamas   only the director stands next to us in his neat costume       hilarious picture.

Speaking of highschool! I left it four years ago and it seems that I haven't done anything at all since then! Now my sister is about to leave it to enter university and it makes me feel old.

Arlishan I missed that one for some reason :) ... yes...I know that feeling...of getting old hahaha xD. Whenever I see my sis's oldest child I think "where is the time that I was her age" because I was about 12 when she got born. It was a hard time, but still somehow I had such different problems at that time and always knew that the next day would bring comfort, but lately... I know that the next day just brings along other/new problems  ??? And I also have the feeling that after secondary school I haven't done anything... I studied but I feel myself like waiting for something hahaha... though I changed that now I went for the more active side of life since I was in Innsbruck  ;D

Just had a nostalgia moment when I was watching youtube videos, hence why I brough back this topic :) wanted to share with the people I met up to now from this forum, which are quite many ... that I'm thankful I got to know them, that I'm sorry when I work a bit out-of-the-world lately (it'll settle sooner or later  :-[) but that I love every single of them as my own brothers and sisters... :) The concerts we shared I went through them this evening :) Wien, Köln, Gent were the ones where I met people and the Berlin party and then through some pictures from visits of my friends ... it makes me realise what a lucky person I am and so I wanna thank you for those memories I have and this feeling of nostalgia right now :) it's not a yearning that makes me sad, but one that makes me smile ;) *group hug*

And I also have another nostalgia related to the upcoming week Also because I heard someone say on Monday, how much her granny could nagg and how she dislikes it to visit her etc... I wish I could visit my granny from time to time, I can as a matter of fact but only at the graveyard. Not the cosy evenings I spend with her, and the smell of wood that burns in the heather and love that flooded my heart whenever she smiled at me without saying a word... :) again...it's memories that make me smile.

Funny because at this point ... I know that I should never ever say "never ever" again ;) ... I went to antwerp today to hand in my papers for closure of my Erasmus stay ... and believe it or not but it was with a certain nostalgia...I know that I was granted something very special in life yet once more by this experience of being far away from home, depend on yourself, get to know yourself without any covered mirrors. And today it's the first tiime I truly miss being there, just not the Italians I spend my stay there with ... but my dear friends overthere, the peace i could find there in the mountains and the river... the carelessness with which I could get up in the morning and how none was there to comment how much or how little I did. The fact I was my own boss. Though when he asked me if I didn't regret not staying for an entire year I fluently said "not at all" so I know I made the right decision... moreover because without, I had probably not found the great people I'm doing music with since my return to Belgium... but I also don't regret of having done so because without that ... I'd probably never have contacted those people neither seeing my lack of confidence. I have nostalgia most of all to this pure state of analysing yourself in full peace, with nobody to interfere on your decisions... this self-reflection I had overthere is impossible overhere... somehow... without it, I'd never have felt the love I feel around now because when you have to miss her...that's when you realise how lucky you are when you do have her and I really learned to treasure love more since my lack of it overthere... never felt so alone in my life.
